It's been a wild week at Shared Seasons...

Above: Found the BIGGEST beet tap-root ever!  It's between Sara's two hands in the photo!

Paul planted MORE squashes!  And, Sara dressed up to free a skunk caught in our live trap!  (Mission accomplished, still a "no spray" farm!)

A bit of bad news from the farm:  We've been battling with raccoons eating our sweet corn (the live traps were for them, not skunks), and we've added an electric fence too.  The worst news:  We found late blight in our tomatoes.  It's a fungus that travels on the wind, and showed up in our field.  We killed the infected plants (maybe 5% of all our tomatoes), and have applied copper spray to attempt to stop the spread and protect the rest.  We'll keep you posted.
